- Current Teams: GU18 Assistant Coach
- Coaching Credentials: USSF National ‘D’ license
- Coaching Experience: Current Boys’ Varsity head coach at Bethesda-Chevy Chase (B-CC) High School since 2010. Has been head coach of U-18 teams with the Washington Spirit. He has also coached girls’ travel for Bethesda Soccer Club (BSC), Montgomery Soccer Club (MSC), and Olney Boys and Girls Club (OBGC) from U-9 through U-18, he currently coaches U-16 and U-19 teams for the Potomac Soccer Association (PSA).
- Coaching Accolades: At B-CC coach lead the Barons to the 4-A Maryland State Championship in Fall of 2017 for which he was recognized as coach of the year by the Washington Post (All-Met), the Montgomery Sentinel, and the Pigskin Club of Washington.
- Education: Coach Melendez earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Education both from the University of Maryland College Park. Coach has been a teacher in MCPS for 20 years, he is currently teaching in the math department at B-CC.
